About Us
The Origami Store was founded on March 3, 2014 and we have been going strong ever since. We are located in Sandwich, Ma at 161 Route 6A. Our founder Dan Souza has always loved origami, which drove him to create The Origami Store.
Dan Souza's passion for origami started as a child when he would spend weekends with his grandmother at her home in Chatham, Ma. When he would first come through the door there would always be scissors, origami paper, and magnificent creations spread all around the dining room table.
They would spend hours together creating origami figures. Using instructions or coming up with their own designs for creations. Sadly Dan's grandmother passed away in October of 2013 and Dan opened The Origami Store in her memory.
"My grandmother always loved to do origami, and when I would stay with her she would show me all of the incredible creations that she made. I wanted to make them like she did so I asked her to teach me and I loved it."
Our Employees
- Dan Souza - Owner/Manager. Dan has had a love for origami since he was a child and him and his wife founded the Origami Store back in 2014.
- Rick K. - Assistant Manager. Has worked at The Origami Store since the initial opening starting as a cashier and worked his way up to Assistant Manager.
- Nick G. - Cashier. Nick has been with us since the Summer of 2017 and quickly found his home with us.
- Brenda I. - Cashier. Brenda has been apart of our family since Spring of 2019 and since starting working at The Origami Store she has also found a passion for origami, taking classes on weekends
